GP Registrar
GP VOCATIONAL TRAINING:Weaverham Surgery has been a GP Training Practice since 1987, therefore we have to maintain high standards in many aspects of care and organisation. A doctor in the training post is fully qualified and is known as a GP Registrar. He or she spends 6 or 12 months under the overall responsibility of the practice, working as a GP and also having tuition, with the aim of joining another practice in the future. Patients will often receive an appointment or visit from the Registrar. Occasionally the consultations are recorded on video, but with the full consent of the patient. Recorded consultations are only seen by other doctors for training purposes, and later destroyed. This year the Registrar is Dr James Edgerley. He will be working here until 2007 |
